Living from a sense of vocation is energising and challenging, yet we are all aware of the cost of Christian ministry. At times we find ourselves in deep need of refreshment and renewal, perhaps on a number of levels, and it is vital that we make a space to refocus. Often this is most effective in another environment, one which nurtures body, mind and soul, accompanied by others who can listen with us as we review and recalibrate for the way ahead.
In a culture which increasingly demands success and growth, those of us serving the church must develop realistic expectations in ministry, both for ourselves and from others. On the other hand, for some people success means survival – given the challenges of their context and available resources. All of us seek to strengthen our aspiration and resolve to do our best.
We need to find places and people that can help us to reflect on our vision, our energy, our practice, our preparedness to take risks and our groundedness in Christian wisdom.
At Sarum, we recognise and understand many of the challenges of ministry. We offer some space for you to rest and reflect, alongside a consultation with an experienced mentor who will help you to examine your spiritual life, your ministry and your vocation.
We have a team of people who can support you and plan in advance what kind of stay might best work for you. We aim to provide you with a place of refreshment and renewal.
