TQQ: The Church and the Churches: The Message of Christian Architecture

  • Course Dates: Tue 14 May, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

This session returns to a question raised towards the end of the previous term: why are the churches we are so familiar with organized the way they are?

Why are most in the Gothic style, and what is the difference between the medieval and Victorian varieties of this style? Why are so many Nonconformist chapels built in a Classical style? This session explores the ways in which different understandings of Church are expressed in architecture.

Advance booking not required, simply come along on the evening. For further information about Theology Quest and Questions, visit our TQQ page or contact Alison Ogden on 01722 424826 or aogden@sarum.ac.uk.
