Book Launch: Three Men on a Diet by George Courtauld
- Course Dates: Thu 17 January, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Three Men on a Diet – the antidote to dieting for those who struggle with their waists but rarely the finer things in life – is the story of George, Reggie and Sebastian, three middle-aged friends who love food and drink, and the culinary adventure they embark on to lower their calorie intake without losing their joie de vivre.
Amidst the bewildering array of information on offer (What is a carb? What is saturated fat? How many units in a bottle of wine?), together they learn how to navigate stumbling blocks such as mayonnaise, chocolate and cheese, while supporting each other through fortnightly hurdles of weigh-ins amid the trials and tribulations of the Fast and Atkins Diets and many others. At the very least, the trio live in hope of putting an end to snoring and a rekindling of their love lives.
Hear George Courtauld regale how he, Reggie and Sebastian fare on their gastronomic journey that uncovers the real truth about dieting in this hilarious and realistic guide that rips up the rule books.
The author, George Courtauld, is a head-hunter in London’s West End. In 2004, he published The Pocket Book of Patriotism, which reached No. 6 in the Non-Fiction Bestseller Chart, selling over 100,000 copies. Three Men on a Diet is soon to be followed by Three Men in Trainers and Three Men in Slippers. George, who is happily married with three sons, lives miles away in Essex.
