Day of Spiritual Reflection: Walking Madonna

  • Course Dates: Fri 9 June, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Elizabeth Frink’s Walking Madonna graces the Green of Salisbury Cathedral.

Facing the city the Madonna invites us to take time with her then to walk alongside those who would pass by. The sculpture presents Mary, the mother of Jesus, as a strong capable woman, so that it can be a challenge as well as an encouragement to the unwary.

Weather permitting we will spend some time with the Walking Madonna looking at what she might be saying to us.
