Leading Intercessions

  • Course Dates: Tue 16 June 2015, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Intercession is the heartbeat of the Church, yet our regular experience of public prayer can lose sight of this.

Furthermore, we live in an era when the very act of prayer is hard work; George Guiver goes so far as to liken the effort thus involved to ‘striking a match underwater’!

The aim of this day is to help overcome inertia in the practice of intercessory prayer by reclaiming the theological foundations of intercession. It will address some of the ways a local church can encourage and equip those who are involved in this ministry. This will include exploring different styles of prayer, identifying the ‘pitfalls’ of leading intercessions and making creative use of music.
