Parish Churches of Wessex

How far have you explored the parish churches of Wessex, sought out their architectural delights, memorials and glass?

This fully illustrated course will reveal, and explain, some of the intricate qualities of the region’s churches and show what awaits the inquisitive visitor.

The series will explore and examine their exterior diversity and distinctive character; some valued features such as fonts, altars and screens; the wonders of stained glass; memorials, both inside and outside; notable people associated with Wessex churches; some curiosities found in Wessex churches; and looking to the future – some questions for Wessex churches.

Subsequent lectures in this series take place on Thursday 18 February, Thursday 25 February, Thursday 3 March, Thursday 10 March and Thursday 17 March 2016.
