Preaching and Personality

  • Course Dates: Fri 9 March 2018, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

How do the personality preferences of the preacher influence what and how they preach? And how do the personality preferences of the hearers affect how they hear and receive the message?

Through this training day, participants will think through how preachers can recognise these issues in their preaching. Basing discussion around the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as an example (though no previous experience of this is required), we will consider the preacher, the Bible text, and the hearers, and how we can build bridges in our preaching so that differences in personality enhance rather than distract from the message.

This day is intended for preachers who want to consider a fresh aspect of the craft of preaching.
