Biblical Study Break: What’s So Special about The Gospel of Luke?

  • Course Dates: Monday, 5 Nov 2012, 1:00 PM - Thursday, 8 Nov 2012, 2:00 PM

How impoverished we would be without the good Samaritan and his Jewish predecessors on the road to Jericho, or the prodigal son and his not unreasonably aggrieved brother! But maybe we could opt for a quiet life without the perplexing unjust judge, the perennially baffling dishonest steward, or the hell-bound Dives. One could also truly say of Luke’s Jesus that “in the beginning was the meal”, and after the meal the symposium, and in the symposium the teaching – some of it familiar and some it quite stirring. In this Biblical Break we shall stir and perhaps also allow ourselves to be stirred.
