Jesus and Healing

Here is a topic that impresses many modern readers of the Gospels and makes others uncomfortable. Stories of healings abound not only in the text but also in the surrounding culture. What can we put together as an overall picture of Jesus from this angle, and how do healings relate to other things he said and did? What can we make of stories of even more extraordinary happenings like a storm stilled or large crowds provided with food?
