Models of Ministry

  • Date & Time: Tuesday, 4 Jun 2013, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Leaders? Ministers? Priests? Bishops? How ordination and the status of the ordained is understood has often been a stumbling block in relations between the churches, and often gives expression to an understanding of the Church itself. Whether gender is a criterion, whether and in what sense apostolic succession is a viable consideration, whether the notion of the priesthood of all believers is sufficient, and what authority an ordained person has these are all controversial agenda items for the study of the Church as the community of the Spirit.
