How TQQ is structured

The three TQQ terms break down into individual sessions as follows. You can register for the year, or a term, or simply to come for specific sessions that particularly interest you.

 

Term one

Opening up the Gospels: 27 September

Beginning with Mark: 4 & 11 October

Matthew and his religion: Christianity or Christian Judaism: 18 & 25 October

Luke, the Gospel for ‘tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow’: 1 & 8 November

What’s so special about the Gospel of John? 15, 22 & 29 November

 

Term two

As we move through the issues raised by the mission of the historical Jesus, these are the agenda items for the second term:

Jesus in context: the Jewish people in his time: 10 January

God as king: the central message of Jesus: 17 January

‘Where can wisdom be found?’ 24 January

Jesus and healing: 31 January

Following in the footsteps of Moses? Jesus and the Law: 7 February

Holy people and holy place: Jesus and the Jerusalem Temple: 14 February

A question of identity: who do we think he thought he was? 21 February

The Son of God? It all depends what you mean …: 28 February

Why did Jesus die? 6 March

D-Day plus two: ‘Jesus lives!’ 13 March

 

Term three

After a comprehensive reconstruction of what may be put together about the historical Jesus we move on during the third term to Paul in full awareness that he seems to be very little interested in Jesus though deeply preoccupied with his death and resurrection, and we ask why this should be so.
