Programme leader: David Catchpole
This two-year programme is designed for anyone who would like to explore how Christianity came about, and how Christian theology and ethics may be understood in a modern setting.
Those who participate may already be involved in the life of the Christian community (in its broadest sense) or they may not. They may be keen to achieve an academic qualification, or they may become involved simply because the questions discussed are for them insistent ones. Everyone, irrespective of their background or experience, is welcome.
The programme is mounted in association with Sarum College by the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme (STETS) as part of its programme of lay education; as such it is not training for professional ministry.
Validated by the University of Surrey, the programme offers two awards to those who write a small portfolio of six essays in any given year:

Sarum College's international symposium will consider the multifaceted role played by wisdom within Christian thought and practice and reflect on ways in which wisdom can inform the mission of the Christian churches today. Our purpose in organising such an event is to carefully discern how wisdom can help our churches to interrelate theology, spirituality and Christian practice.
The College is hosting a number of events to celebrate 150 years of theological education and 15 years since the founding of Sarum College as an ecumenical centre for Christian research and study.
