Programme leader: David Catchpole
This two-year programme is designed for anyone who would like to explore how Christianity came about, and how Christian theology and ethics may be understood in a modern setting.
Those who participate may already be involved in the life of the Christian community (in its broadest sense) or they may not. They may be keen to achieve an academic qualification, or they may become involved simply because the questions discussed are for them insistent ones. Everyone, irrespective of their background or experience, is welcome.
The programme is mounted in association with Sarum College by the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme (STETS) as part of its programme of lay education; as such it is not training for professional ministry.
Validated by the University of Surrey, the programme offers a Foundation Certificate in Theology (New Testament or Christian Doctrine), for one year’s successful study.

The Cavell Room at Sarum College was overflowing for the launch of To Trust and To Love on 29 July.
Sarum College will introduce two new MA programmes, one in Faith-based Leadership and one in Theology, Imagination and Culture, in January 2011. These programmes will run alongside the two programmes currently offered, MA in Christian Spirituality and MA in Christian Liturgy.
