Introduction to English Mystics
- Course Dates: Sat 5 November 2016, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

This short course will focus on Medieval English Mysticism and seek to address the question of why mysticism is becoming such a popular form of spirituality in today’s Britain.
By focusing on the English mystics the course seeks to explore our English mystical heritage and reflect on whether the spiritual concerns that our predecessors discuss are still relevant for us today.
The day will be divided up into four lectures. Each will examine different aspects of the rich English mystical tradition that is expressed in the writings of The Cloud author, Richard Rolle, Margery Kempe, Julian of Norwich and Walter Hilton.
No prior knowledge of the English mystics or mysticism is necessary.
