(temporarily closed) Art Exhibition: AWE: Paintings in Response to Creation
- Course Dates: Mon 20 January 2020, 9:00 am to Sat 11 April 2020, 5:00 pm
Based on an experience of remote bothy life in Shetland, surrounding by sea and sky.
Using this, Peronel experienced the rawness of elements which are the starting point for her paintings and drawings.
Peronel Barnes is an award-winning painter based in Oxford, who has exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours where she collected the Outstanding Watercolour Award in 2011. Her work hangs in private and public collections across the world.

Surge
Peronel is fascinated by the effect of light on the landscape. She spends as much time as she can walking in the countryside or by the sea, watching the light and how it changes, moves and alters our surroundings. You can find her hiding out of the wind on remote coastal outcrops, grappling with sketchbook and elements.
Visit her website at peronel.com

Edge
This exhibition is free and open to the public: all works for sale and a list of individual prices for artworks can be found at reception.
“Peronel has stood at the frontier between land and ocean, filled with awe for what she sees. Her paintings remind us of the perspective and elemental energy that we can experience at such edges in nature.”
Mark Brickman, St Aldates Church, Oxford
There is a free open evening for this exhibition on Friday 28th of February 2020, from 6-8 pm. Please RSVP as refreshments will be served.
