(Cancelled) Biblical Study Break: Biblical Models for Conflict Transformation

  • Course Dates: Mon 11 May, 1:00 pm to Thu 14 May, 2:00 pm

Due to the Coronavirus, this event has been cancelled. See our official statement here.

Jesus said ‘Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God’ (Matthew 5:9).

Today the phrase “conflict transformation” has been used to describe the various processes whereby people and nations seek to establish constructive and positive dynamics and institutions in their communities in place of the destruction and sorrow of war and civil strife. Conflict transformation includes the work of confronting evil nonviolently, establishing justice, negotiating agreements, peace-building and forging reconciliation.

This participative, experiential biblical study break course will focus on using and animating stories from the Bible that serve as models for how to deal with conflict well and live toward a vision of a just peace in our interpersonal relationships as well as the communities and world around us.
