Is There in Truth No Beauty? George Herbert for Our Times
- Course Dates: Tue 13 June 2017, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Local man George Herbert was not just a pious priest but a man of passion, music and poetry.
This study day will include readings, reflection, discussion and teaching on this intriguing priest of Bemerton.
A stone’s throw from Salisbury Cathedral, where George Herbert would have heard the ‘sweetest of sweets’, church music, we will explore his musical side.
We will also consider Herbert as a writer of love poetry, and how his most personal, passionate poems were an integral part of his mission to teach and care for other people.
