  • Course Dates: Mon 4 November, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Is loneliness an inevitable ‘stage’ of dementia?

This day explores how the stories we live by enable or disable us to maintain emotionally meaningful relationships with persons with dementia, including those deemed to be beyond meaningful reach.

When people with dementia can’t keep up with the normal flow of conversation, emotional isolation often ensues. But is loneliness an inevitable “stage” of dementia? Michael Verde, the founder of Memory Bridge (memorybridge.org), explores how the stories we live by enable or disable us to maintain emotionally meaningful relationships with persons with dementia, including those deemed to be beyond meaningful reach.
