Great Grandmothers of Jesus (Part Two)
- Course Dates: Thu 24 November 2016, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Why does Matthew mention four women in his genealogy of Jesus? What do those four women tell us about who Jesus is and how we can follow him?
These are questions we want to explore in these two days. In this second day we explore the stories of Rachab in Joshua 2 and 6 and Ruth in the book of Ruth.
These stories are intriguing in more ways than one. We do not only want to uncover Matthew’s point of view, but also ask the critical questions that almost automatically come with these texts, and at the same time explore how these stories as ‘holy scripture’ might still speak to us today.
This is material that will also lend itself well to take back to our churches and re-use as bible studies, an advent course or more creatively a sewing group.
This day can be enjoyed as a stand-alone study day without attending part one.
