Summer Individually Guided Retreat
- Course Dates: Mon 22 July 2019, 11:00 am to Thu 25 July 2019, 2:00 pm

An individually guided retreat is an extended time of prayer and silence undertaken with the support and guidance of an experienced retreat facilitator.
Summertime can often be seen as a calming and relaxing time of year. A time to appreciate not only the warmth of the weather but of those close to us. Summer can also, at times, be a very busy, and sometimes stressful time of year, where it is important to reflect and reevaluate our lives and situations, both physically and mentally. Meeting up with loved ones, attending events, and big changes in life such as in education and employment can occur over the summer period. Our Summer Individually Guided Retreat helps you reflect on what such events and experiences are occurring in your life.
Each day you will meet together for approximately 30 minutes to reflect on your experiences of the day. Our retreat facilitator will talk through the events of the day with you, and discuss how they have influenced and impacted your actions, thoughts and feelings. The rest of the time is yours to reflect and meditate as you need, or as you see fit. We can advise you on any liturgical and spiritual practices that may enrich your stay at Sarum.
This retreat is particularly suitable for individuals who are new to the idea of an IGR. It is an enriching experience that is often overlooked, especially by those with busy schedules.
The retreat begins with a short session at 12.30 pm on Monday and finishes on Thursday early pm. There will be a short closing session at 1.45 on the final day.
We also offer bespoke individual retreats – let us know if you’re interested in arranging one. Contact us using the information below and we will be happy to answer any questions and queries.
