The Literature of World War One Since 1918 (2nd of 5)
- Course Dates: Mon 9 March 2015, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The unprecedented destructiveness of the First World War led to the creation of more literature than any war involving Britain before or since.
The years following World War One witnessed many publications relating to the war, including works of autobiography by Edmund Blunden, Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon and fiction by D.H.Lawrence, Ford Madox Ford and Rebecca West.
From the fiftieth anniversary of the outbreak of the war to our own times, writers have continued to create literary works concerned with the ‘Great War’, such as Oh What a Lovely War, Birdsong and War Horse.
These lectures will focus on a range of drama, poetry and prose.
