TQQ: Easter: Epilogue and Prologue
- Course Dates: Tue 19 April 2016, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
The Gospel writers do not end their narratives with a grim and ghastly death but with unexpected light at the end of the tunnel of darkness.
They and their fellow-believers called it ‘resurrection’, something intensely real to them and intensely meaningful for all thoughts about Jesus from then till now. Our researches have to examine the phenomenon of visionary experiences of the bereaved, which would scarcely have been sufficient to generate ‘resurrection’ thinking, and we also have to probe the stories of an unoccupied tomb, which may have been more vital than is sometimes supposed. On any account, the end of the story of Jesus became the beginning of another story that is still not finished.
