Wordless Rhetoric: The Problem and Potential of Theatre With a Message
- Course Dates: Wed 17 May 2017, 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm

A public lecture which includes live mime performance as examples of how performance art can educate, nurture and communicate peace.
Former mime artist Geoffrey Stevenson teaches preaching, communication and media studies at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests include the role of the arts in religious expression and their contribution to peacebuilding, particularly photography and theatre. From 1996 to 2005 he was Director of the Centre for Christian Communication at Durham University, and before that toured his own theatre shows to universities, churches, and small scale theatres in the UK and abroad.
