New Testament Greek in a Week course
The New Testament, Christianity’s founding collection of writings, has played a major role in the development of Western history and culture.
Yet its very familiarity is deceptive. To read it only in translation is to see it through someone else’s eyes, and a knowledge of the original language in which it was written enriches our understanding and enjoyment of its contents.
From the start we read extracts from the Greek New Testament, and over six days of intensive study we provide you with the basic tools to understand the Koine Greek language, and the texts from which the early church emerged. By the end of the week students are tackling extended Gospel passages. No prior knowledge of Greek, Latin or any other language is needed.
If you have ever wondered what lies behind the text of an English Bible, why different Bibles translate the text in different ways or wanted a better understanding of the Greek terms theologians love to toss about, then this course is for you.
This six-day intensive course includes evening teaching and a leisurely siesta after lunch.
