The 32 Paths of Wisdom: An Introduction to Jewish Mysticism course
Join Rabbi Adam Zagoria-Moffet for a look at the traditions of Kabbalah — the esoteric and mystical side of Jewish thought. From reincarnation to numerology and much more, Kabbalah challenges the conventional understanding of Judaism as being entirely focussed on rationality and a simplistic sense of monotheism. We’ll explore the major texts of Kabbalah and their often-radical ideas, the 5 C’s (Creativity, Correspondence, Conservatism, Cataclysm, Concealment), Jewish understandings and practices of meditation and other mystical aspects of the tradition as well as consider the impact of these traditions on our modern world, including contemporary Christianity and Western Esotericism.
Adam Zagoria-Moffet is the rabbi of St. Albans Masorti Synagogue. He was ordained from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. He co-edited the first Hebrew/English egalitarian Sepharadi siddur and runs the independent publisher Izzun Books. He often teaches about the Jewish Sephardic tradition and culture as well as mysticism, mythology and ethics.
