Visiting Scholar in Human Flourishing
Director of Ministry for the Birmingham diocese and Chaplain to His Majesty The King. He is a published poet and practical theologian.
Mark’s doctoral research made a critical study of the contribution of poetry to professional learning and continuing ministerial development. He is a leading contributor sustaining the vital place of poetry in Christian spirituality, liturgy and public theology, gender studies and ethnographic research. His publications include Finding a Voice: Men, Women and the Community of the Church (1996); Literary Companion to the Lectionary (2001); Literary for Festivals (2002); Journeying with Matthew/Mark/Luke/John series (with James Woodward and Paula Gooder 2010-14). Mark is a member of The Diviners, an ecumenical group of theologian-poets who co-authored Making Nothing Happen: Five Poets Explore Faith and Spirituality (2014).
