Safeguarding

Home Safeguarding

Sarum College Trustees and staff are committed to the care and nurture of every person and the safeguarding and protection of every person but especially all children, young people and vulnerable adults.

The College aims to offer a loving environment where victims of abuse can report or disclose abuse and where they can find support and best practice that contributes to the prevention of abuse.

In particular, Sarum College aims to:

  • reduce the risk of significant harm to vulnerable people from abuse or other types of exploitation, while listening to and supporting individuals;
  • ensure safeguarding is everybody’s business, playing its part in preventing, detecting and reporting neglect and abuse; and make sure arrangements are in place locally to protect those least able to protect themselves.

Sarum College has particular responsibilities in relation to those training for authorised ministry in the church and follows Church of England guidance.

In our training programmes for ordinands and Licenced Lay Ministry candidates we comply with the Safeguarding Policies and Practice Guidance of the Church of England.

The Sarum College Safeguarding Policy and guidance leaflet are available in pdf form on the links below.
