The trustees of Sarum College are delighted to confirm the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer following a restructuring of the management team. The ambition is to continue to build the reputation and business of the work of learning and hospitality which has been the hallmark of the College Since its establishment in 1995.
Louisa Mason will begin her work at the beginning of November 2025. Working with the College Management Team she will be responsible for the business management and financial affairs of the college. She will contribute to the development of all business areas across the college which will include the development of strategy, communications, and facilities, as part of the delivery of the trustee strategy.
Louisa has a strong business, not-for-profit and scientific background, and brings to this post a wide range of experience in a number of industries including biotech, education and charities. As an ordained minister herself, she understands the value of Christian theological education.
The Chair of Trustees, Bishop Alastair Redfern, says “Louisa has a breadth of experience and an impressive understanding of the challenges and opportunities which will be part of the next stage of our journey. I and my colleagues look forward to working with her as we seek to enable Sarum to develop appropriate resources for the future of church, community and personal development.”
James Woodward, Principal of the College comments “I’m absolutely delighted about the appointment of Louisa who brings into our community experience, commitment, energy and skills for the development of our work. I was impressed by her understanding of the possibilities of strengthening our ethos and Christian values, together with the building of business alongside the Team. I look forward to working with her and learning from her.”
“I am incredibly honoured and humbled to be appointed as Sarum College’s first Chief Operating Officer” says Louisa Mason. “Returning to this institution, which was so formative in my own spiritual and academic journey, is a profound privilege. I look forward to using my professional experience to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth, supporting the amazing faculty and staff so they can continue to deliver a transformative education while also actively enhancing the hospitality side and welcome of the College—ensuring that every person who steps onto our grounds feels the warmth and inclusive spirit that is central to our mission.”
