Sarum College is pleased to announce the appointment* of The Revd Julia Mourant as Tutor and Lecturer in the Centre for Formation and Ministry at Sarum College.
Julia is a Scholar in Residence at Sarum College where she is responsible for the Sarum Certificate in Spiritual Direction, and is the Associate Director of Ordinands in the Diocese of Salisbury (until 31 August). She will begin her new role at Sarum on 1 September and continue to head the College’s spiritual direction course thereafter.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to ministerial formation through Sarum College,” she says.
“Sarum offers a unique context for training lay and ordained ministers which serves the contemporary landscape of ministry extremely well. Robust theological and biblical grounding, as well as integrated, imaginative and mature spiritual life are critical to the formation of ministers for today’s Church.”
“Julia stood out from an excellent pool of candidates,” says The Revd Canon Professor James Woodward, Principal of Sarum College. “We were impressed by Julia’s grasp of the nature of formation, the necessity and excitement of theological study together with integration of our skills and gifts in the task of equipping a new generation of ministers for the Church. She brings a wealth of experience into this work and we look forward to her contribution to the Centre for Formation in Ministry in the coming years.”
*The appointment is subject to enhanced DBS clearance
