Dear Sarum College library users
Our buildings at 19 The Close, Salisbury, closed to the public this week in accordance with the government’s social distancing guidelines. We are sorry that this means Sarum College Library will be closed until further notice. We had hoped to continue to fulfil online and telephone borrowing requests by post but the public health risks posed by doing so makes this untenable.
All loans will be automatically renewed until 29 May so please hang on to what you have. There’s no need to post anything back to us as there won’t be anyone to receive them. We have made alternative arrangements to deliver our learning programmes validated by the University of Durham and the University of Winchester and will continue to support our students online as they pursue their studies with us. If you have any queries about resources, I am picking up library emails from home.
Finally, I wonder if you might be able to help us? Like other charitable organisations, we are facing an unprecedented financial crisis. Months of bookings for our short course programme, accommodation and catering have been cancelled — thousands of pounds of revenue we rely on to run our courses and maintain the buildings. We have been heartened by the generosity of those who have made regular giving arrangements or donations in recent days to support us through this difficult period. If you are able to help, we would be extremely grateful for whatever you can manage. Thank you. Please see our Friends of Sarum College page for details.
Best wishes, Jayne
