We update our policies and procedures as government guidance evolves. Please note additions here, check our news updates for current practice, and/or email us for details and queries.

High standards of service, housekeeping and health & safety have always been a priority for Sarum College.

We have enhanced our these according to guidance from HM Government, Public Health England and the National Health Service, supported by industry specific advice from UK Hospitality.

We can confirm that we have complied with the government’s ‘COVID-19 Secure’ guidance on managing risk in the workplace. Our internal operating practices and protocols will be reviewed regularly and immediately updated as guidance evolves. The information below may therefore change without notice.

Practices and Protocols for hygiene

All guests and staff entering the building must wear a mask in Reception and other common spaces view details here unless they are exempt. See exemptions here.

Staff

  • All staff are required to wash their hands (or use hand sanitiser) at regular intervals.
  • All staff are required to stay at home if unwell.
  • All staff are required to follow official guidance on self-isolating.
  • All staff are required to wear PPE as appropriate.
  • Staff follow a policy of no physical contact and maintain physical distancing wherever possible.

Our Guests

  • Please use the hand sanitising stations around the building and adhere to public distancing measures.
  • Bedrooms are sanitised with enhanced cleaning measures.
  • We have removed non-essential items to minimise any contamination risk.
  • If you are an overnight guest, where possible please use your bedroom toilet rather than those in public areas.
  • Please wash your hands when returning to your bedroom.
  • Please pay invoices by card or bank transfer.
  • The General Manager of Hospitality is responsible for all aspects of our covid-19 operating plan. Please contact us at any time prior to, and during your stay, should you have concerns related to this or any other matter.

Your stay

  • Windows will be open to encourage ventilation.
  • We ask that guests sit in the table settings as they are arranged to ensure safe distance from one another.
  • Physical distancing measures are in place in all common areas.
  • The enhanced cleaning regime for public areas includes more frequent disinfection of high-touch areas.
  • Hand sanitising stations are provided at doorways and key public areas. Additional disinfection processes are in place of high-touch room and bathroom areas.
  • The hospitality staff member on duty is our designated, responsible contact person for all staff and guest covid-19 related queries.
  • Individual bookings have flexible terms and conditions whereby you can cancel 48 hours prior to arrival for a full refund. The stay is non-refundable within 48 hours of check in. For group and event bookings please refer to your contract or to a member of staff directly.

Event protocols

  • Those organising events must provide contact details for all guests. Those who feel unwell should not attend.
  • All guests should wear face coverings in public spaces.
  • Our refectory tables are set so that diners are seated with appropriate physical distance from one another.
  • Windows will be opened to promote the circulation of fresh air
  • Surfaces and high-touch areas are cleaned regularly
  • Please pay invoices by card or bank transfer.

Our commitment to you

All staff are required to:

  • Stay home when unwell.
  • Practice good personal hygiene including regular hand washing.
  • Keep your distance from others.
  • Follow the College’s covid-19 operating procedures.

As a guest of Sarum College we ask the following:

If in the unfortunate case you have any covid-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste and smell, please contact us to reschedule your stay.

Any guests displaying symptoms consistent with covid-19 will be asked to seek medical attention. Anyone advised to self-isolate must check out immediately and return home. You will be refunded the balance of your stay.

When and where appropriate, please make use of our safety equipment and respect the 1m+ distancing guidance.
