This workshop, intended primarily for pastors, social workers, and professionals working in areas where trauma-informed care is necessary, creates a space for the integration of trauma wisdom from the worlds of psychology and social work with insights and practices from visionary Christian spiritual leaders.

We will review insights from critical voices in the field of trauma, creating an interdisciplinary patchwork of practical wisdom about trauma from the field. We will then layer over that a targeted review of the biographies of Clare of Assisi, Ignatius Loyola, Teresa of Avila, Oscar Romero and others, with an eye toward the trauma-informed dimensions of their spiritual journeys and the wisdom they can offer us as we support and accompany those experiencing trauma in our world today.

Weekend includes four presentations, with time for reflection in pairs or small groups and larger Q & A toward the end of each session.

Saturday will include time for personal reflection; Sunday will include time for small group conversation and constructive response.

The course furthers trauma intelligence, creative responses and professional longevity. Reading list available upon request.
