Biblical Greek Reading Week
The theme of this year’s reading is Encountering God, and we shall invite readers to look at a number of annotated texts that describe divine/human interactions.
Over four days students will translate the texts individually, and in plenary sessions will share their translations, discussing similarities and differences in themes and vocabulary.
Students will be expected to have some basic knowledge of Koine Greek, and participants on past Greek in a Week courses will be especially welcome.
Students are asked to bring along a copy of Jeremy Duff: Elements of New Testament Greek (3rd ed., Cambridge UP, 1995, ISBN 0521755511).
Some New Testament texts dealing with grammar in the later chapters of the textbook will be discussed, and students will be invited to suggest grammatical problems that they would like to concentrate on.
