OutoftheBox Storytelling Retreat course
This weekend retreat will give you the opportunity to experience some OutoftheBox stories and the process of community play in a group, as well as have time for your own personal reflection using the OutoftheBox materials and other creative media.
Stories are told visually on a circle of cloth or in sand, creating a focal point for deep reflection and discussion. OutoftheBox gets people talking and thinking in a way that brings new awareness and insights, nurturing wisdom and wellbeing for yourself and your community. Creating a space for openness and curiosity, OutoftheBox encourages people to respond authentically to their thoughts and feelings, whatever their personal beliefs or values. The method is equally powerful in secular and spiritual contexts, including in offices, schools, hospitals, prisons, therapeutic settings and churches.
No experience is necessary, just come with an interest in how stories and play can open the imagination and awaken the soul.
Judy has been a freelance Mentor with OutoftheBox since 2020. Her early career was in Speech and Language Therapy, working in adult neurorehabilitation. After raising children, she embarked on a new career as a Play Therapist, inspired by volunteering experiences in pastoral and children’s work in her local church and as a Trainer with Godly Play UK, advocating for children’s spiritual wellbeing. She is a Primary School governor and leads a local women’s wellbeing group (Women Who Wonder).
