Walking with Young Pilgrims: Practical Leadership and Theological Reflection on Youth Pilgrimage course
Leaders of the All Saints Academy South Coast Pilgrimage will reflect with young pilgrims on their experiences of three years of pilgrimage journeys. They will offer practical guidance on logistics, safety, overnight church champing & route planning. They will then theologically reflect, supported by Revd Ginny and Bishop Karen’s experience of setting up and leading pilgrimages and drawing from research from national church research and para-church organisations, to consider how young people’s experience of pilgrimage might be deepened in terms of faith, wellbeing, nature connection to Salisbury Diocese Wild places.
Bishop Karen has been Bishop of Sherborne for nine years. She has much experience of leading retreats, quiet days and pilgrimages.
Revd Virginia (Ginny) Luckett is Vicar in the Golden Cap Benefice & Director of St Wite’s Way, a pilgrimage experience focused around the story and tradition of St Wite, Dorset Patron Saint.
Sarah Lewendon is an RE Teacher & Lead for Collective Worship at All Saints Church of England Academy. Curriculum Area Lead for RE.
Joe Hobday has been a Youthwork Pioneer and leader for 18 years and has walked part of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela with his son.
