    Teaching & Learning information

About a week before your course we will send all participants a welcome email containing details of how to find Sarum (for onsite courses) or to join online. We like to incorporate a personal message from the tutor in this email, so please write your message here. This is a good opportunity to inform participants of any materials you would like them to bring with them, or what they can expect to be asked to do during the course.
We don't typically ask participants to do any reading or preparatory work for short courses, so please only set pre-course material when the course content absolutely requires it. If you do suggest pre-reading, please try to choose something that is in the public domain so that there are no copyright considerations.
We understand that you will do the detailed planning for this course nearer the time. However, it would be helpful if you could indicate the kinds of teaching strategies you are likely to use. Please don't worry if these end up changing when you do the more detailed planning. Please note that Sarum is committed to offering an inclusive and accessible learning environment for everyone. We encourage you to: • Use a variety of teaching methods appropriate to your subject and delivery format (online or in-person) • Think about different learning needs and preferences – how will you accommodate participants who learn in different ways? • Be clear about expectations – make sure participants know in advance what the course will involve so they can prepare and feel comfortable joining in.
    Handouts(Required)
Will you be using any handouts to support your teaching? We will print and handouts you would like to use and include them in the welcome packs that all aprticipants will receive. Please note that we need to receive your handouts two weeks before the course date at the latest, so that we can run mandatory copyright compliance checks.
