An exhibition by Daniela Manutius Forster
From 26 November to 11 January
Open Evening 28 November, 6-8pm
Daniela was born in the Franconian Alps in Bavaria. Since childhood, her lifelong devotion and love for sacred art, holy sights, music have paved a way for her art and writing to manifest in a variety of directions.
During Daniela’s abundant and varied life, she has studied widely, including philosophy, science, humanistic psychology and film studies. During her career in design, fashion, and film, she became increasingly aware of her interest in spirituality. She began painting and writing and experimenting playfully with colour. The combination of symbolism, dimension, semantics, light and texture are her trademarks both in her painting and collage works. Her unique style has mystical, philosophical and magical insights inspired from her spiritual devotion. She strives to integrate imagination and sensitivity to give a glimpse into her world of constant play of discovery, exploration, and learning.
Through an eclectic fusion of mythology, folklore, science and cosmology, Daniela seeks to offer a message of healing in her work, laying bare common needs and elements in seemingly different world views, religions and ideologies.
“Creativity takes courage, and I am in it with the whole of my heart”.
