Bio:

Back

I’ve been fascinated by questions of meaning since I was a teenager. While many of my friends were busy deciding what to do with their lives, I was wondering what a life was actually for. I found myself drawn to contemplative traditions, wild landscapes, and the kind of conversations that seem to rearrange something deep inside you. I wanted a way of living that felt connected, intentional and awake rather than rushed or accidental.

That search eventually led me to train as a counsellor and retreat facilitator in my early thirties. Along the way, I discovered that people rarely need fixing as much as they need space: space to listen to themselves, to notice what is already stirring beneath the surface, and to reconnect with what matters most. I’ve always believed these practices shouldn’t belong only to specialists or spiritual professionals. Reflection, self-awareness and a deeper sense of purpose seem to me like ordinary human capacities that benefit from a little cultivation.

Professionally, I tend to find myself at the intersection of community building, creativity, wellbeing and spiritual curiosity. I spent several years developing local projects that brought people together around storytelling, nature and shared craft. Through that work I became increasingly interested in the small habits and rituals that quietly shape who we become. Grand visions are inspiring, but I suspect most transformation happens through ordinary actions repeated with care. A meaningful life isn’t usually discovered all at once; it’s assembled, piece by piece, through attention and practice.

In my work with people, I assume that wisdom is rarely absent. More often, it’s obscured by noise, pressure or forgotten possibilities. My role is not to provide answers from a distance but to accompany others as they explore their own questions. I listen closely, notice recurring themes, challenge assumptions where helpful, and try to bring equal measures of curiosity, warmth and humour. I’m interested in approaches that engage the whole person: body, imagination, relationships and spirit. I find that uncertainty, struggle and even disappointment often become some of our finest teachers when we learn how to work with them rather than against them.

A place that feels thin, holy, or spiritually alive to me

A windswept hilltop overlooking the sea just before sunrise.

A book I return to because it stays fresh and keeps me company

The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts.

A question I find myself living with these days

How do we become more present to the lives we’re already living?

A simple daily practice that steadies me

A short morning walk without headphones.

A meal I love making for other people

Slow-cooked vegetable tagine shared around a crowded table.

A journey that changed me, outwardly or inwardly

Walking sections of the Camino de Santiago with no fixed agenda beyond putting one foot in front of the other.

Something that reliably draws my attention back to what matters

Watching birds and noticing how little urgency they seem to carry.

A piece of music that still stops me when I hear it

Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel.

A moment when I realised something important had shifted for me

The day I stopped asking whether I was on the right path and started paying attention to the next faithful step
