Sarum College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jayme Reaves as Director of Academic Development.
In this role, Dr Reaves oversees the organisation and delivery of academic learning across programmes and will develop quality and innovation in the learning provision. She continues to be Coordinator of the Centre for Encountering the Bible and have oversight of the short course programme.
‘I’m delighted to take on the role of Director of Academic Development,’ says Reaves, a public theologian who works with congregations and communities to reflect on the public impact of their theology. ‘I feel privileged to work closely with my colleagues in further development of the college’s academic programme.
‘Sarum is already innovative in so many ways, and I hope to build on that strong foundation to strengthen our research community and support colleagues in ensuring our academic offer prioritises the needs of both individuals who come to study at Sarum as well as the communities in which they live and serve.’
‘Jayme is a theologian with skill, energy and wide experience of learning and teaching,’ says The Rev Canon Professor James Woodward, Principal of Sarum College. ‘She brings to this post both discipline and dedication to working with the academic faculty to build partnerships and develop Sarum’s reputation for excellence for teaching and research.’
Like many organisations, Sarum has been deeply affected by the financial consequences of the closure of our buildings for public safety, and the need to adapt our systems and learning offer to the current environment.
‘Confirmation of this post, and that of the General Manager of Hospitality, is an affirmation of the College’s commitment to adapt and indeed thrive in the new environment,’ says Professor Woodward.
Dr Reaves took up the role of Director of Academic Development on 1 June 2020.
