We said goodbye to Annette Young yesterday who has retired from her role as ministry administrator and PA to Sarum College Principal James Woodward (right).
Annette (below left) has been at Sarum College in various roles since January 2008. Describing her work as the ‘gold standard’ for administration, James thanked Annette for her patience and care, especially when managing his overfull diary! In keeping with Sarum tradition at farewells, James’s three ‘A’ adjectives were “alacritous” (get the dictionary out), “Able” and “Accomplished”. Having earned a degree in Theology and Religious Studies, Annette’s personal experience as a mature student made her especially empathetic to our students. .
See below for crowd reactions from Annette, Chris Whimpenny (former MA administrator, centre) and Jayne Downey (Director of Learning Resources, right).
“I am looking forward to spending more time with my family,” says Annette. “The first event is a weekend at Center Parcs to celebrate my retirement with my husband, two children and their partners plus my five grandchildren.”
After the celebrations, Annette will be donning her new gardening gloves and spending the garden centre voucher from the Sarum College staff and students to transform her home patch to Chelsea-worthy standards. We look forward to seeing the results!
