It is a privilege at Sarum College to have a large community of women and men preparing for ministry across the Church of England. The College currently supports 44 people on part-time pathways for licensing as a ReaderLLM, and 48 ordinands following full-time or part-time pathways. Alongside them, 9 independent students from different backgrounds and denominations are engaging in further postgraduate study in Theology Ministry and Mission.
This thriving community is supported by a skilled and dedicated staff team who ensure that every student is valued as an individual and is challenged, supported and encouraged in their theological learning, personal formation and contextual experience. To strengthen this, we have recently reorganised several staff roles.

Sheena Williams

Ian Macdonald
Paul Burden serves as Academic Dean, providing oversight across the academic and formational programmes at Sarum College.
Sheena Williams becomes Director of Formation, bringing together an oversight of residentials and admissions while continuing her role as Tutor in Contextual Learning.
Ian Macdonald steps into the role of Lay Ministry Programme Leader, overseeing ReaderLLM formation and helping to expand the ways the College shares its vision and work in ministry formation with wider audiences.

Jo Neary
Jo Neary becomes Undergraduate Programme Leader in Theology, Ministry and Mission, guiding the design and delivery of undergraduate pathways and modules.
Beth Dodd continues as Postgraduate Programme Leader in Theology, Ministry and Mission, Jayme Reaves continues as Lecturer in Biblical Studies and Theology, and Jacquie Gallon continues as Ministry Registrar. The College also remains committed to drawing on the expertise of external tutors and speakers in our learning.
We are confident that these developments will strengthen and help develop our high-quality formation for those preparing for licensed and ordained ministry, and those wanting to take their theological learning further.
College Principal, James Woodward, says: “Any team needs to respond and adapt to so shifting needs of students. Here at Sarum we seek to empower and support women and men in the formation for ministry. This is exciting and demanding work. These changes strengthen the work of the team and our shared responsibility to build community of learning which can meet the needs of ministry across our Region and partner Dioceses.”
