Reflection
Here is the bridge, in Elizabeth Gardens that leads to the Town path and onwards to Harnham. A bridge is a structure built to span a physical obstacle, providing passage over the river. It connects. It raises those on foot up over the water and safely carries us.
We all face tight corners, obstacles, difficulties. Sometimes we human beings are better building walls than bridges.
God builds bridges and offers us new connections. Isaiah invites us into a rebuilding and a repairing of all that needs our attentive love.
“Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breachâ Isaiah 58:12
Prayer
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you,
wherever He may send you.
May He guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May he empower you to be a bridge builder
May He bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders He has shown you.
May He bring you home rejoicing
once again into our doors.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
Action
We are in the business of building bridges with people. Think of something or someone who you would like to reconnect with. You might want to recoonect with a piece of music that lifts and inspires you or some memories rekindled by letters or photographs. It may be a relationships that needs more care and attention.
How can we be a bridge and bridge builders in our communities ?
