Sarum College has initiated a search for a successor to Dr Jon Morgan to take on the role of Programme Leader for the MA in Theology, Imagination and Culture in early 2021. Dr Morgan will leave his role as Centre Coordinator and Programme Leader of the MA in Theology, Imagination and Culture at the end of the year.
‘We are grateful for Jon’s contribution to the programme and wish him well in his new venture,’ says Sarum College Principal, The Revd Canon Professor James Woodward.
‘Sarum is a place where exciting and innovative theological work is happening,’ says Dr Morgan. ‘Although this move is the right thing for me, I’m sad to be leaving behind a group of brilliant colleagues, a community of engaged and capable students who have stretched and inspired me, and a really excellent programme that I’m glad I had the chance to lead and develop during my time at the College.’
The MA in Theology, Imagination and Culture is an innovative, interdisciplinary, and rigorous theological postgraduate programme that draws a wide range of able and highly motivated students from across the UK. This postgraduate programme seeks to address the relevant, timely questions by taking popular culture seriously as a genuine site of religious and spiritual aspiration. In this programme, students have freedom to follow their own trajectory of imaginative theological and cultural exploration. The breadth of students’ research interests is evident in the fascinating variety of MATIC dissertations on the College library shelves.
Sarum College remains committed to resourcing and enabling learning in the coming years as we proceed with renewing the programme’s validation via the University of Winchester.
