About the Christians and the General Election 2024 course
How should Christians engage in party politics today?
One of the complex questions Christians face is how should they participate in party politics. The 2024 General Election will bring this question into sharp focus. This evening course will investigate what considerations Christian should explore as they reflect upon the rival claims of different parties. If the Election has already occurred by the course date, then we will reflect on how Christians might respond to and engage with the new government.
As such, the course will examine issues of public theology with a talk by the course leader, some discussion between the speaker and session host, and then time for questions and comments.
Politics is inevitably a controversial, and sometimes emotional, topic and so care will be taken to ensure a respectful and generous debate. That said, it is also of foundational significance to the ordering of our society and so an important topic for Christians to explore.
