MA Module Contemporary Spirituality in Historical Perspective course
This module asks what it means to live out and write about a distinctively Christian spirituality in the age of the ‘spiritual but not religious’ and where people have access to a global marketplace of spiritual practices, ideas and traditions. We look at the challenges and opportunity presented by modernity and postmodernity and how the changing shape of contemporary Christian spirituality reacts to and is invigorated by voices traditionally on the margins of the Church.
This excellent historical study of Christian Spirituality is part of the Christian Spirituality postgraduate studies programme and is open to ‘auditors’ e.g. those who join the course without receiving academic credit.
What does it mean to audit a course?
This course would made an excellent addition to a study break, retreat or sabbatical in the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral Close, where residential participants enjoy full board, access to the library and to the pattern of liturgy at Salisbury Cathedral.
