Revelation course
This course will introduce you to reading the Book of Revelation as political and economic resistance literature, and help equip you to reflect on its relevance to contemporary issues such as peace and nonviolence, and environmental theology.
The day will be comprised of four sessions that offers an introduction to the apocalyptic letter as a whole, and then pursuing various themes thereafter:
Session 1: Everything you ever wanted to know about the Book of Revelation in less than an hour
Session 2: Building a Vision for the Common Good – Revelation and politics
Session 3: The Book of Revelation as a Gospel for the Environment
Session 4: Fire from Heaven: Divine Judgment in the Book of Revelation
About the Tutor
The Revd Dr Simon Woodman is the Minister of Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church and the Baptist Chaplain of King’s College London. Previously he lectured at Cardiff University and was a tutor at South Wales Baptist College. He holds degrees in theology from Sheffield, Bristol and Cardiff universities. Simon is not afraid to mix politics with theology and to push boundaries. He champions radical values and inclusivity while collaborating and engaging widely to bring about transformation.
