Changing the Language of Spiritual Conversation course
How can spiritual directors talk about God in unfamiliar ways?
An opportunity for spiritual directors to meet online to explore how this ministry might be offered with those whose faith perspective may not be Christian, and for whom the language, vocabulary and frameworks of spiritual practice may not be defined in ways familiar to the Spiritual Director.
How might we find our way to a shared language in the spiritual direction space? Where are we comfortable, where are we stretched and are there limits to the kinds of conversations we can hold in spiritual accompaniment?
The framing of the day suggests that spiritual direction may be possible in contexts other than Christian faith, but not all spiritual accompaniers will approach their ministry with that understanding.
