Sarum College is pleased to announce that Paul Burden is taking the position of Dean of Ministry in the Sarum Centre for Formation in Ministry. In this role Paul will take a wide oversight of the Centre, ensuring the effectiveness of our academic and formational training for students, in line with Common Awards and National Ministry Team requirements.
‘Having been at Sarum College for eight years, it is a joy to see the growing and influential ministries of previous students here. That continues to drive my commitment to those currently training for Reader/LLM and Ordination and those who will train in future. This role brings together responsibilities for the academic and contextual aspects and is a symbol of our integrated approach as a team to formation for mission and ministry. I’m delighted to be taking the role on.’
‘We are committed to the work of equipping women and men for ministry and mission in a rapidly changing environment and Paul’s new role is part of positioning the whole team to deliver this effectively and well,’ says Sarum College Principal, James Woodward. As Principal, James has overall strategic oversight for the Centre as well as final responsibility to sponsoring Dioceses for admissions, reporting and recommendation for ordination and licensing.
‘At Sarum we have a strong and committed team supporting the work of ministry formation. This role will support the development of how we equip and resource ministry to build and deepen the life of mission and ministry in service of the Gospel. Paul brings to this role his experience, his intelligent and skilful organisation skills with a pastoral heart. I look forward to the next stage of our life on the Centre for Formation in Ministry.
