Gentle Pilates course
Start the new year with a gentle introduction to Pilates, a century-old system of movement drawing on the mind-body connection to improve posture, flexibility and strength.
Over six weekly sessions you will learn the principles of Pilates and how they inform exercises which develop functional fitness allowing you to enjoy an active life doing what you love.
The first session will introduce the principles and ABCs (alignment, breath, core) of Pilates. Subsequent sessions will cover posture, joint mobility and strength with movement and exercises taught in a layered way so that all can participate at their own level.
All welcome whether you are brand new to Pilates or want to review the basics to improve your form and practice.
This course will be suitable for most people. To ensure the safety of all participants we ask that you complete a health questionnaire (PAR-Q) to alert us to any medical counterindications so that your practice can be adapted accordingly.
Struggle to get onto and up from the floor? Consider joining the class as a chair participant with specialised adaptations. Please note this in your health questionnaire.
