What does the Bible have to say about today’s cost of living crisis and economic difficulties many are facing?
There is a strong, radical tradition of economic justice in the Bible, based primarily on the Sabbath principles in both the Hebrew Bible and Jesus’s teachings, that present solutions designed to care for everyone in society, including the most vulnerable. The principles do not deny wealth or its right to exist, but details a pattern whereby the division between those who have and those who have not is lessened.
